Just For Fun: A Collaborative Art Project for the Cloud

Who says collaboration has to stop with code? This communty knows well the power of collaboration to advance everything from software to science and yes, to the arts. We invited members from the community to collaborate with us ollaborate with us at LinuxCon and CloudOpen in San Diego on a couple new, just-for-fun "projects." You might have already witnessed the community song and video in which Linus makes a cameo appearance. Now, that's just plain, good teamwork.

Skateboarding with Greg Kroah-Hartman

After the Linux Kernel Summit was done, the Linux kernel panel had wrapped and the LinuxCon and CloudOpen keynotes were finished, there was only one thing left to do at last week's event: Skate. You might have heard rumblings and seen pictures of the skateboards that were given away as speaker and VIP gifts at this year's event (you might have even scored one). Well, on Friday we took them out to the curb and put them to work - - with a little help from Linux kernel maintainer Greg Kroah-Hartman.

{Video} Epic Community Song from LinuxCon, Features Linus Torvalds

The Linux and open cloud communities came together this week at LinuxCon and CloudOpen to advance technology for the next major shift in computing. Technical sessions, interesting keynotes, amazing parties and the hallway track provided the foundation for this work. The community also rallied together in song. Yes, a collaborative song, featuring Linus Torvalds, that shares at least one way we feel about the old way of building software.
