Open source cloud platforms OpenStack, CloudStack and Eucalyptus have made much progress this year in testing Hadoop deployments. Here’s what each of the three major platforms had to say recently about their progress with Hadoop on the open cloud. 

This week's open cloud news shows more signs that open source adoption and the open source mindset are gaining momentum in the cloud. VMware, for example, this week announced new support for Amazon EC2. Meanwhile, OpenNebula has become more widely used by business than academia and Red Hat has a new partnership with Zend to support PHP applications in the cloud.

 Zenoss released a new report this week that predicts more than 50 percent open source cloud adoption among enterprises within five years.  In other open source cloud news, Rackspace has a new training and certification program for OpenStack, Citrix is building its IaaS platform and CloudStack is looking for speakers at its November conference in Las Vegas.  See the top open source cloud headlines here.
