LinuxCon and CloudOpen Media Takeaways

The LinuxCon and CloudOpen 2012 conference held in San Diego last week were an epic success. Three days of keynotes and technical sessions from leaders in Linux, open source technologies and cloud computing sparked new conversations online in the days during and after the event. The information and ideas now circulating through the Linux community presented some new angles on old topics as well as a rare peek at the tools and technologies behind innovative companies and services.

Oracle: Leading with Linux, Then and Now

Adopting Linux as a platform has helped change Oracle over the past 15 years from a fragmented, decentralized behemoth to a sleek, consolidated service provider, said Senior VP and CIO Mark Sunday in Oracle’s LinuxCon keynote presentation Friday morning. In exchange, Oracle also played a large role in shaping Linux.

LinuxCon Live Blog: IaaS v. Paas Panel, Citrix and Oracle

Today is the last day of LinuxCon and CloudOpen 2012. Don't miss any of the action! We'll be live blogging the morning keynotes starting at 9:15 a.m. Pacific with a panel discussion on IaaS vs. PaaS. 

At 9:45 a.m. Peder Ulander, VP of product marketing at Citrix will talk about "The Cloud in 20 Years."

And 10:05 a.m., Oracle Senior VP and CIO Wim Coekaerts will present "Linux Tales from the Trenches of an Ultra Demanding Cloud Data Center."
