Outsauced

- Daniel Chapman (Idea & Commentary) & Chris Suico (Artwork)

I am sure pretty much everyone has heard by now of the developer who outsourced his job to China.

I am equally sure that all of us are jealous, and as far as I can tell, the only criticism seems to be that he was silly enough to get caught. Which makes me wonder how many people out there are already doing this, or now planning to do this in such as way as they don't get caught.

Where do I sign up? I know how the guy got caught, and how not to. You should never give your company's VPN link to anyone else. If you're going to do this, you set up an outside email address and have the other company email you all of the work, then you turn it in yourself. Then no one's the wiser. ;)

Arduino. Linear actuator for the token. Webcam and illumination. A frame to hold it in. Local proxy server. (or RDP) How hard really ?

It's called progress and innovation. These were cherished American values, but nowadays the media must hold this up as an example of someone shirking their "duties", breaking the "rules", and worst of all "getting caught"! The world works differently now. It's time for anachronistic corporations to adapt or keep losing good employees. Or maybe that is the plan. A servile working class that don't question and don't do anything but their jobs and a few company-sanctioned vacations. Perhaps it's the good employees that should leave and adapt to this rapidly changing world before they are left behind.
