SoC for DVRs Combines 1GHz Cortex-A8 With DSP

Texas Instruments (TI) announced a high-end SoC for DVRs and video communications systems that combines a 1GHz Cortex-A8 with a C64x+ DSP. The TMS320DM8168 has four times the performance of its predecessor, handling up to three channels of 1080p video or 16 D1 streams, the company says....
