Linux Mint Debian Edition is one of my favorite distributions. I highly recommend checking it out if you want a blend of Linux Mint's features with the goodness of Debian. Don't get me wrong, the Ubuntu versions are also still quite good but there are folks out there who prefer not to have anything to do with Ubuntu, so LMDE is a great alternative for them.
