Forget about the Live CD, it requires a GUI and have problem with the graphics card and the wireless card. So, we have to install the text mode installation, download alternate CD for ubuntu 7.10(Gusty Gibbon), you get one at ubuntu home page. and follow this link for installation guidelines http://users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/p3.htm. hope this helps. :-)
