Can most software be installed on linux systems?

Answer to the question

Yes - with a caveat

Based on the two previous answers, I agree. There is generally a good Linux ready app that can replace the apps on any other OS. I believe for those Windows apps that you can't live without, if they won't run in Wine, you can always run a VM with your preferred version of Windows and run them there. As for Android apps, I don't know.

Answer to the question

I would say yes.  There is software in Linux that can do anything you would require with another operating system.  Many times it is the software with the same name.  Google Chrome is called Google Chrome in Windows, Mac, and Linux for example.  In other cases, you need to look for an alternative to the software you use on other systems.  A good resource to see those alternatives is at https://alternativeto.net.

Answer to the question

It depends on the software. Some software products may be used with Vine/PlayOnLinux.

In general, I would say - NO
