Enabling network interfaces in slackware 13.1

I have slackware 13.1 install on a compaq presario, System Model:GX629AA-ABA SR5313WM, 

Processor: x86 Family 15 Model 95 Stepping 3 AuthenticAMD ~2410 Mhz with am nvidia nforce 10/100 adapter. Slackware for some reason does not se it. I tried scanning for hardware, and still it did not locate my ethernet adapter. What could be the problem?

If forcedeth does not work, then you may be using another type of chipset, in that case we will need to see the what network card information is listed in the output of lspci to make the proper determination.

I have seen some versions of the nforce adapters not responding correctly under specific kernels. The general driver for that network card is called forcedeth. You can manually load the driver by using the command "modprobe forcedeth".

if you wish to set it to load on boot then you will have to add an entry in /etc/modprobe.d/, to find the structure look at the other fies in that directory. If you wish to pass options to the device you can find them by looking at the output of "modinfo forcedeth".
