Every time I try to awaken my computer from sleep it asks me for the root password which I haven't set. What do I do?

Every time I try to awaken my computer from sleep it asks me for the root password which I haven't set what do I do?

Simple/lazy answer: Open the bash shell, at the prompt type the following: sudo passwd root (this will allow you to set the root password). The password requested by sudo is whatever your user password is when you logged in to the machine. Beyond that, more info about your system is required (Linux distribution and version, desktop manager (kde,gnome,xfce,etc), and what program or command is managing the sleep fuction for you.
