How can I get unixODBC to serve my mysql databases on a Slackware server?

I am running Slackware 13.1, I would like to get unixODBC or another ODBC server setup so that my server can share my mysql databases with other software and clients. Can someone point me to good instructions to achieve that goal?

please correct me, if i didn't get ur question.

What u want is to have a MySQL Server on machine server-A, and want to access it through machines client-X, client-Y, client-Z?

If this is the case then u need to add client's ip addr to MySQL database (authentication stuff).
database: mysql
table: user

I Don't think you can do that with unixodbc , afaik , what you should do is first configure mysql to run on your server, second configure ODBC settings on the client side using the odbc driver for the operative sistem.
That will work....
It might be possible to use unixodbc to get the result you want but i think this will be more simple and easy to implement.
