Most modern distributions of Linux are pretty good about setting up the wireless card in your laptop on their own. You might need to "turn on" your wireless. The last install I did of Zorin on an old laptop had the wireless hardware turned off be default. I pushed the button on the front of the laptop to enable it and then found my access point and logged in as usual. After that, it connected on start up.
Are you having a particular problem? What version on Linux are you running?

I use only debian/ubuntu based Linux.
