Answer to the question

SSH and RDP are two different remote connection tools.  SSH is a command line/terminal connection, whereas RDP is typically used to have a GUI/shared desktop connection.

If you're preferring an SSH connection, the device you're trying to connect to needs to be set up as an SSH server.  Reminna will allow you to be the SSH client connecting to that SSH server.  The same goes for RDP.  Reminna will let you be the RDP client connecting to another computer if it is set up to receive (ie. serve) RDP connections.

Setting another computer up to serve SSH connections is simple in Linux.  It is as simple as installing the package "ssh" from the repository.  You can use Synaptic Package Manager for that, or you could just type "sudo apt-get install ssh" into a terminal if you're using a Debian/Ubuntu based Linux distribution.  If the other computer isn't Linux at all, do a web search on how to install SSH server to that platform, whether it be Windows or Mac based.
