Search your printer driver over official canon printer website. You can find your printer driver over here. If you coudnot find your printer driver over there you need to contact Canon Printer Technical Support Experts at Toll Free Number 1-800-243-1403

I did a search on canon.com and the reply was this: "There is no software for the OS Version you selected." I have one of these printers too, and have the same problem, but can use it with my other computers, using Windows OS.

Once, you have downloaded the .tar file, uncompress it.
$ tar -x MP280series_printer_driver.tar
$ tar -xzf cnijfilter-mp280series-3.40-1-deb.tar.gz
$ cd cnijfilter-mp280series-3.40-1-deb
$ sudo ./install.sh
Once the driver gets installed successfully, try to re-plug you Canon
printer to your Kubuntu system.
