I have forgotten my password. Help.

I have forgotten my password, is there any way to find out what my password is ???.

Assuming the password you choose is strong, then no, there's no handy way to recover your password. But you can still *reset* your password.
If the lost password is for a user account, just log in as root and do 'passwd username' (where username should be substituted with the actual user). If the lost password belongs to root, things get a bit more tricky.
First you need to reboot, and hit escape in grub. then append 'init=/bin/sh' to the kernel-command-line, and boot the system.
Now, you'll end up with a shell prompt. First you'll need to remount your root partition read-write: 'mount -o remount,rw /'
Now enter 'passwd' and set a new password for root.
Finish with remounting the root partition read-only: 'mount -o remount,ro /'
and finally, reboot. now you're system should come up as usual, and you can log in again.
