Looking to buy a Chrome book for linux work, using Croutons for split o/s, however, if i run a server in my linux o/s could i see it using localhost in chrome in my chromebook o/s ?

Basically if i have the split o\s's and run a server on my linux box(Ubuntu) and then switch to the chrome o/s, when i open chrome could i enter localhost:3000 to access the app thats running from the linux o\s ?

Yes. Ubuntu would be running in a crouton created chroot environment using different PIDs. Your ChromeOS can see the output of those PIDs (say, httpd on port 3000) and access the app. See chroot and How to Easily Install Ubuntu on Chromebook using Crouton. I'm running Kali with crouton on my Chromebook. Works like a boss.
