What is the best way to dual boot Ubuntu and Windows?

I just bulit a laptop that is currently running Windows 7, has 12gb of RAM, i7 processor, and has a 1tb of memory. As a noob. I want to know what is the best way to dual boot Ubuntu and Windows?

Win 7 already installed, that's good.... simply insert ubuntu set up disk and follow instructions to install it. Just take care when u partition hdd while u choose custom. Be careful, it will not over write on windows partition. Linux has strong boot utility that will automatically create menu for choice of OS after completion.
