When i try to run a cdrom it says autorun not found?? How do i get this to work?

I am new at linux and am really an almost beginner. Please someone tell me when i try to run a cdrom it says autorun not found?? How do i get this to work?

Which flavor of Linux u r using that is not mentioned here ! however u can try to open Control Center / try to open the box where all hardware u can find there ! If u will get success, open "Removable Media/ Media DisK' or whatever it is , check AutoRun Programs or like that.....

Autorun was a feature of older versions of Windows. It was considered a security risk and has long been out of use. If the CD is making use of Autorun, it is most probably Windows software that will not run on Linux anyway.

The may be data files on the CD that can be read under Linux. Use the file manager on your distro to look the directorys of the CD and see if there is anything useful. You can likely copy off any graphic/picture files and office-type documents and work with them in progrograms available under Linux.
