Why Does my 12.04 and 14.04 pc's work but the 11.10 does not?

Why Does my 12.04 and 14.04 pc's work but the 11.10 does not. It works with an ethenet cable but not wireless... The pc is about 4 years old and is a dell inspiron mini 10 running Ubuntu 11.10 trying to connect to a vodafone wifi. It sees other wifi's but not mine... PLEASE HELP.

It is difficult to be precise without specifics about your wifi card, but I expect the answer is driver related. It possibly does not support the protocol your Wifi router is using. One option would be to try setting the Wifi router to an earlier protocol, or multi-protocol support (b/g for example)

12.04 and 14.04 are LTS releases of Ubuntu and have more robust and maintained support for kernel/driver related things - is there some particular reason you won't upgrade?

Because 12.04 and 14.04 are LTS (Long Term Support) and they last longer than normal issues. 11.10 came to the end of its life 9th May 2013. Time to upgrade.
