Sustainability Of Linux Multi-queue support for intel X540 10 GB ethernet controller
Intel Server Board S4600LT2, 4 Socket, 4 Processors(Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-4657L v2
(30M Cache, 2.40 GHz)), 12 Cores on each processor, 128 GB RAM
Right now we are only focusing on Fedora 16 and driver supported for the above mentioned controller is ixgbe.
1. Intel X540 10 GB Ethernet controller supports 128 hardware queues. We need each processing unit to handle a fixed set of hardware queues. Is there any limitation in linux kernel to handle such a massive scalability ??
