i'm enduser that using linux , but i have buy sql server 2005 and 2008 . I want to know can linux run sql server
Open Synaptic, refresh it, and do a search using the search term, "SQL." A very long list of stuff will appear! Ubuntu's version of Synaptic offers descriptions of most (if not all) of the software in their repository. You might find something right there to fit your needs, and installing it in Ubuntu is just a few clicks!
Microsoft SQL Server is made to be run with Microsoft Server. There are alternatives on Linux, many which do a better job, MySQL is one I can think of. If you follow the instructions in the post above mine, you'll find more.
