  • In hopes that this is a serious question I will attempt an answer.

    The short answer is yes you can install Linux.

    A more complete answer would require some more information;
    Do you have something to install it on?

    What do you have to install it on?

    What do you want to use it for?

    That last one may sound a bit silly but if you want to simply browse the internet and recieve and send email what Linux distrbution you install would be different than if you want to do genetic research primarily.

    If you are just wanting to try it out there are a lot of Linux distributions that are complete, all around OS's with simple installers that will easily share a computer with another OS if you have one already installed and want to keep it.

    Linux Mint Debian Edition

    Mageia 3

    Manjaro

    All have Live CD/DVDs that you can boot from and try out without installing anything on your computer or effecting what is already installed there. They are also easy to install if you decide that you want to.

    You should download (free) and either put them on a USB stick or burn to a CD/DVD (RW can be reused many times) and try them out.

    There are a lot of other distributions out there that are easy to find and download.

    Most have good support offered by forums of their users. There are other general Linux forums too. Most of them will be happy to help you anyway they can.

    There may also be a LUG (linux user group) in your area. You can look that up on the internet.
