SpringSource Releases Spring 3.0

SpringSource has announced the availability of version 3.0 of its open source Spring framework for Java applications.  The final version of the major release includes a number of enhancements and while Spring 2.5 currently supports several of the higher-level functionalities built on Java 5, Spring 3 provides full Java 5 support. According to Rod Johnson, general manager of the SpringSource division of VMware “Spring 3.0 makes it even easier for developers to build flexible, high-quality applications while providing a foundation for innovation in other open source projects and commercial products...”
