OpenOffice 3.2 RC2 Arrives

The OpenOffice developers have announced the availability of the second release candidate (RC2) for what will become version 3.2 of their free open source office suite. In addition to the standard bug fixes, the final version of OpenOffice 3.2, scheduled to be released later this month, will include a number of performance improvements and new features.

Notable changes in the 3.2 branch of OpenOffice include updates to all of the included components, faster start-up time and improved importing of Microsoft Office documents. The final version is also expected to feature accessibility improvements, support OpenType/CFF fonts, work with Quick Look on Mac OS X, and add stemming and morphological capabilities for Thesaurus to Writer.
