27

Author: JT Smith

It’s time for the second annual Chicago open source conference. We’re going to have some great speakers like John “maddog” Hall and Bruce Perens. We’ll also have a web application framework rumble and a hackathon. The goal of the Flourish Conference is to promote the use and adoption of Free Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) by demonstrating the practical
applications of FLOSS in the business and academic world.

Flourish 2008 will feature influential and technical speakers, social events, an exhibition area, a development competition and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and socialize with the Chicago open source community as well as people from other areas of the country. There will be a Hackathon, a web application framework rumble and a mini-BARCamp. This year we are expecting about 300 attendees. We are hoping that you can be one of them.

We hope to see you there at the Flourish 2008 Conference on April 4th and 5th at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
