SEATTLE, Wash. – 15 November 2005 – Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY), announced its collaboration with Terra Soft Solutions to deliver a complete Linux distribution for the Mercury Dual Cell-Based Blade, at Supercomputing 2005. The Dual Cell-Based Blade, announced on October 6, is Mercury’s first product based on the IBM(R) Cell BE (Broadband Engine) processor.

Terra Soft Solutions, the leading developer of integrated Power Architecture Linux solutions and a value-added reseller for Mercury, will provide a Board Support Package for the Mercury Dual Cell-Based Blade by January 2006.

“Terra Soft Solutions has a strong track record for providing quality board support packages to IBM, Freescale, and Mercury,” said Randy Dean, vice president of Business and Product Development at Mercury. “We are pleased to work with this trusted team.”

Terra Soft Solution’s Board Support Package will enable a simple, rapid installation and netboot-capable Linux environment for the Mercury Dual Cell-Based Blade.

In 2006, Terra Soft Solutions will continue its work with Mercury to integrate the Board Support Package into its Y-HPC cluster construction and management suite, enabling effective and efficient build-out of Mercury Cell processor-based clusters.

Kai Staats, co-founder & CEO of Terra Soft Solutions, said: “In line with our seven years of dedication to Power(TM), our work with Mercury and their Cell-processor based products is perfectly timed for an historic industry transition. At a time when individual processor frequencies no longer define the leading product, the Cell processor’s 1+8 processor architecture introduces an entirely new way of designing for computationally intensive applications. Mercury’s in-depth knowledge and experience with high-density, mission-critical systems, combined with our expertise in Power Architecture Linux, can only result in a performance advantage for our customers.”

The Mercury Dual Cell-Based Blade conforms to the IBM BladeCenter(R) form factor, integrating server, storage, networking; scalability, and high-performance computing for a variety of applications. Scalable to seven blades in a 7U configuration, the Dual Cell-Based Blade is expected to provide up to 2.8 TeraFLOPS per 7U chassis, and up to 16 TeraFLOPS in a six-foot rack. The Dual Cell-Based Blade is slated for release in early 2006.
