fencer Joined: Apr 14, 2008 Posts: 1 Other Topics	Posted Apr 14, 2008 at 3:40:08 PM Subject: new user (soon-to-be exwin98) I am extremely new -- I want to change to Linux (probably Ubuntu) but don't know if I should delete my current OS (Win98) first or not. Also I need to know if USB drivers are available Win 98 doesn't recognize my usb thumb drives). I am running an older p.c. (733) and a small drive 20 gb with 2 partitions. Thanks in advance - (probably many more questions to follow!)\ Jeff

I began using Ubuntu about a month ago and I am still going back to the old Windows system to retrieve a file I have forgotten about or if I now want to check something that I hadn't thought of when I migrated my files to the Ubuntu OS. I plan on hanging on to the old Windows OS until I am absolutely certain it has nothing further that I may ever want or need. Waxon If it ain't broke, you aren't trying hard enough.

Having said that, there isn't anything that you are doing on Windows 98 that you cannot do, and better, on Linux. And it _will_ recognize your USB sticks.
