It says it has no packages and my terminal cannot even find it on my desktop. simply put im damned confused.

You can do that from the terminal with the command: chmod u+x ati-driver-installer-8-5-x86.x86_64.run Next, you can run it with the command: ./ati-driver-installer-8-5-x86.x86_64.run Are you sure you downloaded the file to the Desktop?
