Forums: New to Linux - gtk-warning cannot open display

XingOver Joined: May 30, 2008 Posts: 3 Other Topics	Posted May 30, 2008 at 4:57:54 PM Subject: gtk-warning cannot open display I am sure this is a very basic error for you guys but some searches didn't help me find the resolution. This is a shiny new install of RedHat Advanced Server in a VM on Windows XP. I installed GNOME but it takes me to a command prompt on boot instead of the desktop. I do a gnome-terminal and get gtk-warning cannot open display xhost +localhost produces the same error. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks
