you'd have to try the distros aimed at minimalist/old computers like Puppy, DSL or DSL-N, or TinyMe or others. They may run slow at first boot/isntall since they copy themselves to RAM but once installed to HDD they should speed up considerably.
DSL is the way to go if you really want to be minimalist (the whole thing is less than 50MB) but more eyecandy is on TinyMe, it's 200MB but that wouldn't be a problem once installed.

i suggest going to the search page at distrowatch.com

thank you for information given. I noticed that DSL more compatible to use. But how to install it since my old laptop running on Windows 98SE? I've check the distros website for installation procedure, seems no information bout that. Anyhow, i appreciate all information given and time effort.

Thank you </div>

well, if DSL it works for you, go for it.
http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/f/topic-3-26-8732-0.html
read up, the process is a heck of a lot more complex than other distros, as DSL was meant to be used via USB or CD...

application installation might be as complex, that's why I rarely suggest DSL... </div>
