Position: Linux System Administrator
Type: W2 Salary (plus benefits)

Telophase Corporation, a federal and commercial IT Services company in the Washington DC Metro area, is offering the following employment opportunity at its client site in Greenbelt, MD. This position requires a highly motivated individual with 5+ years Linux experience to support the off-site facility IT operations at Goddard Corporate Park. A successful candidate must have strong knowledge of IT security; system backup procedures; configuration, data and log management skills.

Job Requirements:
• Must be US Citizen
• At least a BS in computer science, information systems, computer technology or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• At least 5 years of Red Hat-based (including CentOS & Fedora Core) Linux server and workstation administration experience
• LAMP application knowledge and experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong technical writing skills (documentation, reporting)
• Basic knowledge of IT security as it applies to system configuration, data management, and system maintenance processes

Desired Skills:
• CIS benchmark configuration experience
• Experience with Windows XP system administration
• Experience with Mac OS X system administration
• Previous helpdesk experience
• Previous experience with ticketing systems

Other Skills:
• Superior communication skills – both written and verbal – for interaction with prospects and customers.
• High level of drive and initiative; ability to deliver with limited direction.
• Must be highly motivated, self-starter, results-oriented, able to work independently or as part of a team
• Experience in developing and giving presentations helpful.
• Ability to learn client business quickly
