Subject: Installed new video card but stuck at command prompt.
I intalled and ran fedora 9 having been somewhat familar with it but intalled a new video card and am stuck at the command prompt. The system seems fine but I would like to know how to reconize the new video card (which was PCIe as the old one). How would I do this?

Without knowing more it is hard to help you. You could start up by hooking up your VGA plug on your moniter to the onboard motherboard graphics plug. [Modified by: rokytnji on October 03, 2008 07:05 PM]

Yes, what is your new video card? I would suggest two things. First, make sure that your system is up to date. To do this, log in at your command prompt (as root, or su as user), and do yum update Then, switch to your on-board video chip as rokytnji suggested and try to run graphically from that. If your new video card is indeed the problem, then hopefully an easy fix will be to download and install the proper drivers.
