marypat Joined Nov 08, 2008 Posts: 2 Other Topics	Posted: Nov 09, 2008 5:33:59 AM Subject: Creating partitions I have a Dell Dimension 3000. I have been unable to reinstall Windows XP. I thought I would try Linux. I have one hard drive 160 GB and am only installing Ubuntu 8.10. I can use Ubuntu from the live CD but cannot install. The message is partition #1 of scsi 1(0,0,0)(sda_as ext 3 failed. Have tried partitioning manually several times but really don't know what I'm doing there. Marypat
