installing software

Subject: installing software
hey I am new to linux and want to know how to install old software onto the program example games. Is there something else that I need to load first or not. I have PCLinuxOS.

I have some games that I wanted to install also some palm software if I could.

Are these Windows or Linux games? If Windows executables then you will need to install Wine, and they may or may not run (probably about a 60% chance that they will). As for the palm software, I think there may be an emulation environment for garnet software development that will run on Linux, but I haven't personally tried it. You can sync your palm with your Linux contact list, calendar, and such. I haven't used it to install new software on my palm however (I have a Palm-TX that is about 3 years old).

Sometimes real fast is almost as good as real time. Remember, Google is your friend!
