Subject: games on ubuntu (or any linux)
hi, games like counterstrike, command and conquer, starcraft, warcraft, DoTA, special force, RAN, and the like are more popularly played using the windows platform. I do wonder if linux has a bridging application to enable these kinds of game in its platform? Better yet, are there versions of these games which can run in a linux environment? Moreover, are there other games of these kinds which can be played in a linux desktop?

There is a windows compatibility layer, called WINE, which will allow you to run a number of Windows games and programs. : http://www.winehq.org/ : Here is a list of some Linux games : http://www.linuxlinks.com/article/20080522164112313/Games-Part2.html
