Howdy Reed, Rokytnji here. I didn't want to contradict or reply the Linux on Mac thread.http://www.linux.com/forums/topic/3997?fid=1

I just thought you might like to know. I responded to a Mac user in another forum using a core duo Macbook. I was informed by another forum member in a post that the newer Macs, don't use PPC distros. Since Mac had switched over to Intel Hardware on their newer stuff. I don't know how true that is since I don't own a Mac. Just thought I'd pass on that info for ya.

I wonder if a chat format or foo bar feature for an open brouzer had a way to tax or append an image so a person could attach a picture or drawing and simmilarly a box for a music tag either writen on a staff or as a raw file. A default lattin jazz could play in the background like a time step in tap dancing, if nothing was placed and, if the comment was uninteresting you could increase vol. on the cow bell! Some apps for a cell phone could be a ring tone that sounded like biting both cheeks and blowing with your tounge between your teeth like making a motor boat sound as a kid. Also yahoo could join the frey by offering audio filter apps. like a guitar player using a switch foot. Reverb, echo, fat octives . . . could be added to create a sound cornacopia. - U.S. democrats the same old same old not in american politics but Obama is trying to sell socialism in the old cold war style of the people party revolution next new thing bla bla bla . . . its all been done and faled allready so many times that the pilgrams decided to have a tea party to toast its failings and wrote the U.S. constitution. (keep trying Obama democrats some day you mite discover what was common knowlege in ellementry school befor it was nationalized) . .. Yes are you still there Mr. Mantolvo? . . it was a sales woman she had come loaded for bear!

Or get there leg stuck in a bear trap. As Obama stimulus package hits his fan base, all of the things he said would be taken out are still in there. Nazi youth group campain organizers being paid by tax payers. The equivalent of a bought vote. And in reality a Democrat spending package Psst . . desinged to bankrupt the economy providing an excuse to expand a markist platform. So a number two bill supposedly ment to do what the current bill was supposed to address becomes a convenient excusse to spend spend spend enslaving tax payers and inlarging gov. jobs that don't contribute to the tax base. Thats whats wrong with the Obama plan! 40% of the public reportedly don't pay taxes and of the voting population half as many are emplyoid by government or recieve a gov. hand out. Government jobs and gov. funded IRA's should be tax exempt and like unemployment any income from private enterprize by a gov. employee should be deducted in hours from there gov. employment using a time constant like feture were 1/2 is deducted the 1st yr. then 3/4 then 5/8 so after five yrs. 100% of private income is deducted from gov. work income. to help move gov. employees into the private sector and adulthood. This would be particularly usfull in moving teachers at public schools into a potentialy non union private education by paying half of a teachers salery as a gov. school teacher the first year they work as a private citizen and then 1/4 and so on. Simmilarly welfair reciepiants and any other recepiant of a gov. subsidy including criminals should be allowed to work in private employment and deduct there income from there subsidy or with criminals applied to good behavior. (buy or educate your way out of incarseration into probation) - what dose this have to do with computers, well half the U.S. are Republican and share fudamental phylosophies with open software. This artical may help them see the light and apply there charicture building beliefs to there benifit of technological independance.

I saw an idea somewere on, I think it was this web sight, that allowed for a secure p2p system made from building block systems such as random numbers, a security consortium among countries so not to have a single entity. I would work like what was once the department of treasury yet, instead of viewing the public as either citizen or terorist there would be a midle ground between NSA or FBI type law inforcement more allong the lines of comparing the FDA to the USDA or CART or NAACP. A variety of security levels would be made available to the public like broadcaster licences (they wouldn't be paid for as much rather simply allow untamperable display and transfer of product. - and aside strategicaly TIVO debate is good for open software since each device running open software may not be free by way of taking up space and revenue used to strengthen proprietary lock out. TIVO software if GPL'd I would supose could be used on a virtual machine or with an interface to drive different hardware. - by creating secure channels a catagorical refrence would allow intelectual property to be distributed within the construct of its author. It could be distrubuted without limitation to obviate a beastly prospect as well by add sponsorship, agreements with various forms of promotion associated with a record or distribution service. Material could be placed in a number of catagories and added or deleated from less profitable venues as determind by revenue generation, access, or usefullness what ever is the providers intention. Songs or art could by stored and programs could search for infringment yet even infringe material if place in a catagory that would resolve such issues by as many methods as can be concieved. One example is to allow colaborative works within bussiness and if extended to art works a version or arrangement if previously agreed could share a portion of revenue generated our what ever valued shared objective of its authors. This would not obviate traditional record companies or publishers as they could make arangments with successfull artist or provide the proverbial war chest of acumulative works that otherwise mite by infringment constrain a work. Material that needs work or isn't up to valuable standards is left. In one senario web users can vote by paying or (regestering to provide a sence of equality) voting as much as they are willing to pay. Each payed vote lets them buy into a percentage of revenue generation as if they were the record company promoting the work. So if you voted a work into some top 100 ranking that allowed it to generate more revenue you number of paid votes would reap a weighted avreage return on investment.

Was that the binary snake post? In the above remarks the idea of a work group environment identifies software that could not only be used for group meetings and projects but, could allow the managment of bidding or applications either public postings or private applications. Along both simmilar and different sort of thinking, communities trying to advance or expand public transportation mite double or quadruple service along route that access sporting events or cultural activities say parks on saturday or plays or concerts. When large events are held in a community transit lines could also get beefed up allong routes that showcase that cities cultural intrests (resturants, motels, parks, shoping centers, airports or bus terminals) pick one or two main streets at first and expand if successfull.

Obama taking a que from Barney Frank is demonstrating time and again the failure of democrat facist policy as he trys the run the country backwards making state and local leadership his soldiers instead of sentries. Democrats are backward because they think gov. has to tell everybody what to do rather than throtle regulation when industry fails to responsibly serve the publics interist. Watch tonight as Stassel reviels the chink in Obambuls armor and catch Rush c-pack inprogress (a 10+ radio gives you the daily skinney week days or one can listen free on the internet) All gov. needs to do is get out of the way and imbrace conservative principles its the stuff of life. Its the sizzel in the stake, the glint in the sparkel, the aaah in the oooh, the eat in the tweat. And then a chair fell out of the sky! I'm getting hungry, why not have a sour dough french bread bake off. Bakries around the world could ship a round, loaf, baggett, dubble baked crust, regular, and brown and serve in a paper, plastic, or unwraped to destinations around the world and test them for freshness and quality.

I downloaded and installed Wubi, which was a pretty straightforward install, but now I'm faced with configuring the networking part so I can get on the internet. I have two computers connected to the same router (using verizon as my ISP). Any suggestions on how to get the necessary IP information? Or is there a simple way fro Wubi to autodetect an available IP?
