What about notebooks with SATA II drives and sundries onboard.

I have a neww HPTX1420US notebook. Been using Linux in various forms now for some years .. Just tried to load Ubuntu with KDE on to it.. burnt bootable ISO.. but looks at Caleard DR DOS (boot file) and stops at EMM386 loader.. Some one told me that Linux Kernal will not support any new SATA drives as yet because of the call to the interface is not "wired"m as yet into the current kernal.. Does any body know anything about this.. Thanks Skyhigh..
