you can change things by installing new themes or go to System>Administration>Login Window and change settings to your liking.

Firefox 3.5 is available through the Fedora repositories. Type the following in the terminal: "yum update firefox".(whitout quotation marks) and you should have the latest Firefox.

If you don't have windows install just make a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.04, let it manage the partitions, you don't really need more than one partition in Linux systems, so leave just one and let Ubuntu do its stuff.

at home i have DSL internet connection, at work we have a small windows network of 5 PC's,with a hub. in my XP at work if i want to connetc i type in my detailes and it works, it worked o my laptop as well before i set up my home connection with pppoeconf. someone sujested to kill pppoe while i try to connect to my work network? would that be a solution.
there is no specific error message it just says that connection not managed.

I have an Acer E510 laptop, i managed to set up my internet connection at home with pppoeconf, just folowed the instructions and it works fine. One day I wanted to use my laptop at work and i tried to connect to the internet by setting up the connection manually. At work we have a small network, but after i typed in all the details like my IP address, netmask, gateway, DNS saved the connection and it did not work. Is there a possibility to make it work, i would like to have the two connections so i would just plug in the cabele and Ubuntu would just recognize which connection it is. How can I setup these two accounts.

i was wondering if there is a setting that would enable auto-arrangement of desktop icons in ubuntu. i'm aware of the "clean up by name" option, but when i add a new desktop icon i would like it to be arranged automatically. is there a possibility, maybe through Configuration Editor?

you can add packages to Ubuntu and make it a multimedia distro very easily, you have to instal some packages but it is easy. try this site:

the new jaunty based Kubuntu is better now, but you should consider using Ubuntu, it has many new things as far as the kernel goes and it is way more stable than KDE.
