Filesystem Hierarchy Standard 3.0 Process Begins

18

The filesystem hierarchy standard (FHS) describes how files and directories should be laid out on a compliant distribution. The FHS has not been updated since 2004, and is starting to look dated in places. A new effort to update the FHS and release a version 3.0 by July has been launched and a call for participation has gone out. There’s a new repository and a new mailing list; click below for details on how to participate in this process.
