Subject: Kdenlive and Ubuntu 8.04

I am getting a new computer and have decided to install Ubuntu 8.04 on it. When reading about Windows Move Maker replacements, I noticed that Kdenlive looks MUCH more complicated (thats good) and better than Kino.

I honestly don't understand how to install Kdenlive. I'm good with computers, but any sort of installation "instructions" I could find were way over my head. Could someone please give me a detailed and easy step-by-step guide on how to install Kdenlive.

I had another question, too. Do I need to install Kubuntu or the KDE environment? I would rather just use the default Ubuntu 8.04.

And could the moderators please delete my topic in the New to Linux section? Sorry about that.

I've already attempted to read that, and I'm telling you that it makes no sense to me.

Try:

% apt-get update
% apt-get -y install kdenlive
