Amazon Announces 2 New EC2 Instance Types: Cluster High Memory With 240GB RAM And High Storage With 48TB HDD Space

At Amazon’s re: Invent developer conference in Las Vegas today, the company’s chief technology officer Werner Vogels just announced that the company is launching two new large instance types for its EC2 cloud computing service.

Eucalyptus 3.2 Adds Self-Service Capabilities to Open Cloud Platform

It's been less than half a year since Eucalyptus rolled out version 3.1 of its open cloud platform, but on Monday a brand-new Eucalyptus 3.2 made its official debut. Included in the new release are a graphical cloud user console, extended Amazon Web Services (AWS) compatibility, new management capabilities, and a hardened node controller.

SUSE Signs Up with Inktank for Ceph on SUSE Cloud

OpenShift, Red Hat’s Platform-as-a-Service, Headed to the Enterprise

Red Hat’s OpenShift platform-as-a-service started as a hosted solution for developers. It was, ostensibly, Red Hat dipping its toe into the platform-as-a-service waters. It proved successful enough to keep going.
