Agent Orange writes “I was searching around the web this morning and ran across an article from Dave Winer, which has a very interesting viewpoint about our culture and the role of software. The sad fact is that software has made many people wealthy, but Dave gets the facts about software history incorrect.
The software revolution may have been funded by companies later in the evolution of its life, but it was initially funded by the US Government. It was therefore, initially the property and province of the American people, not corporate interests.”
