Introducing Teletubby XP

Kelly McNeill writes: “Upon seeing the XP start-up screen for the first time, I couldn’t help but notice that the background image, or “bliss” screen, bore a striking resemblance to a Teletubby poster in the room of my friend’s four-year-old son. Unless focus groups pointed out the similarities and a Microsoft executive considered them harmless, I can only conclude that perhaps Microsoft is subtly trying to increase market share by attracting the one to five-year-old demographic into its fold.”
