How can I uninstall Windows 10 from my HDD and install Linux Mint instead?

Hello all! At first I was thinking why not dual boot Linux Mint onto my HDD but I'm pretty fed up with Microsoft all together (Also not a fan of Apple products). And so I've backed up all my files onto an external hard drive and now just need help with the rest of the process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer to the question

Installing a GNU/Linux distro on your computer is pretty easy today. There is an installer that help you with all the process necessary for installing it on your pc.

First choose a distribution you like, something like ubuntu or mint or fedora ecc.

Download the distro and burn a dvd o create a bootable usb.

Boot the sistem from the medium you have created. You may need to change the boot options on your pc to do that.

Some distro, like ubuntu or mint, give you the ability to test the sistem without installing anything. Try the distro and when you believe that is ok for you, you can install it on your computer.

Using the installer embendded can help you on all process to complete the installation correctly.

During the install process, an option at the Installation type screen should allow you to "Erase disk and install Linux."  Select that option.

Answer to the question

Install Mint -

If you have the LiveDVD version of Mint or have it "burned" onto a USB drive , it's pretty simple, especially if you don't want to save any of your Windows install.  Boot from whichever device has Linux Mint and follow then install it to your harddrive, doing a complete format first.
