I am just beginning the learning process for Linux. Can I install Linux on a PC that has Windows 10 installed (dual boot 64 and 32 bit OS.?

Answer to the question

If the computer can handle a 64 bit operating system, yes.  Consider Linux Mint (www.linuxmint.com).  Either the Cinnamon, MATE, or Xfce editions would work.  Each of these desktop environments would be good for a person coming from Windows.  Each is also light on resources.  If the screenshots can't help you make a decision on which to choose, try Cinnamon first.  It's a homegrown desktop environment created by the folks at Linux Mint and will be very much supported by them.

Cheers!
