Depending on your Linux distro that you chose/use it could be different but if you use Ubuntu Linux or one of it's variants than you might already have the program CUPS installed. It allows you to connect your printer to your Linux distro through USB or Wifi (if your printer supports it, that is) and print through there. If it is Wifi capable than CUPS may automatically detect it for you and setup should be a lot easier. It can sometimes find a driver for your printer automatically or you can check your printers manufacters website and see if they have a driver for you to download that supports Linux.
