Is it possible to run High performance graphic software on ubuntu or any linux platform without performance loss?

These softwares do not have a linux specific setup. But are professionally used in the design field , some examples are Autocad, Rhino etc . Is it possible to run them without Wine because that gives very low performance.

Answer to the question

Hi,

If you use a compatible Linux software, such as Gimp for image processing, than you can run it as a native Linux software without any performance degradations.

In can you use a compatibility layer or another emulator, such as wine, to run windows software on Linux, than obviously, there will be some performance loss, caused by the system call conversions.

Cheers.
