Android as mobile payment

With the current rate of theft on netbooks, notebooks and mobile phones this integration of multiple mobile payment options along with the other information that an android phone can hold seems like a huge risk for consumers in my opinion. Imagine loosing your phone and finding out that the thief has have place fraudulent posts on social networking sites, found your bank information and charged thousands of dollars worth of charges on your bank account and credit cards before they finally pulled your simm card from the phone.

I may be jumping the gun and making false assumptions about the level of protection on this feature, but early technology always has bugs that allows it to be hacked for other purposes and I fear that potential bugs can allow either applications to use the feature or thieves access to exploit the feature.

Please share your thought on this technology and if you think this is pushing the bar too far.
