CeBIT: In cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), the Fraunhofer Institute for open communication systems and the Technologietransferzentrale Schleswig-Holstein 1dok.org will fill one of the Future Talks subject blocs at the CeBIT 2003 on 18 Mar 2003.”

Beside short subject related lectures, a guided panel discussion will be
the central event, allowing relevant representatives of administration
and economy to discuss standardization of digital documents with
representatives of the Office product vendors Microsoft Corporation,
Adobe Systems Incorporated and Sun Microsystems Inc.

Participants among others will be: Mr. Krost, ministerial councilor in the
Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), Dr. Kampffmeyer, director of the
AIIM International and member of the DLM forum of the European Commission,
and Mr. Ewanow, division manager IT of the Markant Handels und Service
GmbH. Moderator will be Mr. Holger Vajen of the HAO Institute.

Our aim is to ask all Office product vendors to comment on the requirements
of the market and to present their own solutions in a public frame. Through
cooperation with public institutions, interested economic enterprises, universities
and citizens, a catalog of requirements for a standard document format has
already developed within the 1dok.org project.

The agenda to the 1dok.org subject bloc can be found under

2. 1dok meta data model: RDF-schema and XML-schema for the application “formless letter ” published

On our website, we published an RDF-schema for the semantical description of the meta data and an accompanying XML-schema to predefine structural restrictions, exemplifying the further development of a formless letter based on the 1dok basic document. We offer the community this for application as a well-tried canon borrowed from the real world.
Further details and the implementations you will find on our website under http://www.1dok.org/eng/framesetschema.html .

3. The Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI, Bundesministerium des Inneren)
welcomes 1dok.org initiative.

In a letter from 19 Nov 2002, the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI,
Bundesministerium des Innern) appreciates the 1dok.org initiative and
informs us that they have taken first steps towards standardization
themselves already in order to fulfill their own endeavors in that direction.
The BMI suggests to intensify the already existent contact with the
Federal Office for Security in Information Technology
(BSI, Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik).

The meeting to intensify the contact took place on 24 Feb 2003 in Bonn.
