Arcom launches new Linux Development Kit

Jenny McCrae writes “An embedded Linux Development Kit for Arcom’s IXP425 XScale® based network processor board is now available. The Development Kit is a ready-to-run embedded Linux system with full support for all on-board peripherals as well as support for the Ethernet based hardware accelerated encryption (AES, DES, 3DES) and authentication (SHA-1, MD5) capabilities of the IXP425 device. By using its integrated network processor engines, the MERCURY provides secure, high performance Ethernet based communications, with a VPN gateway throughput of 50Mbits/s. The Development Kit includes the IXP425 based MERCURY PC104 single board computer fitted with 64Mbytes of DRAM, 16Mbytes of AMD MirrorBit Flash and 256Kbytes of SRAM. The board is housed in a low cost compact enclosure (MERCURY-ICE) with breakout cables and tamper detect switch. The kit also includes an AC PSU, cables to connect to your host system, and a comprehensive information/software CD.
